Title: Idle Mixture Post by Henrik Skak-Iversen(Guest) on 07.10.01 at 08:03:00
Hi, I have difficulty adjusting the idle mixture for my 1981 TR1. I have checked the balance with a Carbtune manometer and it now reads apr. 24 cm HG for both cylinders in idle at 1000 rpm. Compression is 90 /95 PSI so no big difference between the 2 cylinders. However the idle mixture does not work for the rear cylinder/carburator. It runs best with the mixture screw turned all the way in. The mixture is all too fat and the sparkplug gets covered with carbon on the rear cylinder. On top of that the exaust is banging due to the rear cylinder (it stops banging when it only runs on the front cylinder). I checked that the carb. piston (Drosselklappe) is all the way down in idle. Does anybody have some advice ? (I can read German OK !) Best regards Henrik Skak-Iversen Birkerød, Denmark |

Hi Henrik Just a thought - - if the float is stuck og not at the right float hight, the fuel will run over and into the cylinder as long as the engine is running, with this run you cannot get anything right. Hi from Erik |
