While being driven to work this morning (broken ankle--no riding for me) I spotted a beautiful red 1981 XV920 being ridden in the opposite direction.  This is a big deal!  These machines were never popular in the U.S. and there aren't many clean examples left.  I've found more 920s (not many at that) in junkyards than I've ever seen on the road. My driver, a co-worker, did not realize the significance of this event and could not be persuaded to turn around and give chase.

interesting to hear, that the XV 920 was never popular in the US. I always thought, that the "TR1" was only unpopular in Germany. But believe me, the same sensation, that overcame you this morning overcomes me every time I see one over here in Germany, and that is very, very seldom. I´ve got mine now for over twenty years now and believe me, I don`t want to miss her.
