i have a early 1980 xv750se engine type 5g5
having problems with the engine there is no fuel control valve assy fitted does it need this to run has its back firing and will not idle
also looking for parts... battery side panel, tool box, inlet rubbers for the carbs and the fuel/mixturecontrol complete with all the pipes
can anyone help???

The fuel/mixturecontrol valve assy is not needed. I have to TR1.'s and one of them has no such unit and I can feel no difference.
Back firing is a symptom of to lean mixture or a leak in the exhaust system. The carburettors may also need to be syncronized.
