Title: Higher Compression Pistons
Post by Garry Roberts(Guest) on 27.06.05 at 00:29:00

I have a 980 Xv and a "special" with 1100 Virago motor in "chain drive" frame. I would like to find higher compression pistons for these motors.  Standard bore in both is 95mm.  Can anyony help? Garry

I think that some use pistons from some Porsche engine! I don't know if there are pistons specially made for XV980-1100 engines. A trick is to take off 1 mm from the cylinder base to get little more compression.

The best way to increase compression on a 981 is to weld up the
combustion chambers to look like a 750.Improves squish and burn
if you do something about the porting aswell makes big difference
on how much power these make.
