Title: pistons and rings
Post by Robert Druge(Guest) on 30.10.05 at 20:20:00

Are there any sources of TR1 pistons and rings? can my xv920RH be bored out to 1000cc to accept these pistons? it seems that there no sources here in us that carries pistons & rings for a 920.  thanks , bob

To my knowledge; yes! It's the only easy hop-up that can be done. From 750 you'll have to make special pistons cause the wristpins are smaller than the 920 and up. To get 1100 you have to change crankshaft (longer stroke) and have the same bore as the xv1000 (or TR1.)Pistons and rings can be bought from a YAMAHA dealer.

You can put 1100CC pistons and cylinders on a 920RH. The only difficulty is that you need to over bore the crankcase to fit the larger O.D. of the cylinders.
