Title: Baby TR1 - VX750 chain driven Post by Bri on 08.12.05 at 12:17:14
Hi, I have a baby TR1. As far as I know the best description is an VX 750 Euro model. My problem is that I can't find any references to this bike. I would like to know how much fork oil etc it needs. I could use the information I have for the TR1 but want to be precise and use information for the XV750 Euro. Can anyone help in tracking down this information? |

Hi, I think, the best for a Baby-TR1 is a dummy and good food and waiting for the time it is finished!!! Attention, this is our joke site ;) Send a photo, that we can see the bike and the front fork, I think, one can help you! so long Sepp |

Was hat se denn??? Gruß Uli |

Hey here are the pictures of the Baby I took for you today. Can anyone can say exaclty what model this is? A local XV specialist shop told me it was a XV750SE. When I found the users manual for that bike I knew it couldn't be this bike. Another guy who claimed to know lots about XV's told me it was an XV750Euro built in Holland. But the parts people look at me like this when I say this model :-? I need some parts soon and cannot order anything until I know exactly the model. I don't even know fork oil quantities and fork air pressure...which is importand because the handle bars rattle side to side quite violently if I ride with 'loose hands' on the handlebars. Maybe it is an XV750 ? No Euro, No SE, nothing else but XV750. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The white appearance of the chrome parts - this is waxoyl that came out the canister too thick, even on a hot summers day in the UK. It keeps the bike from rusting but looks like spray on Christmas snow!! :-[ |

Hi Bri, it´s a XV1000 / TR1 from 1981, type 5A8 chain driven. The XV750 have kardan final drive. Hartmut |

Hi, You're kidding? There must be a serial number. You find it at the front part of the frame, just between the steering bearings. This bike looks like an early XV 1000, Type 5A8, build in 1981, no matter where or when it was sold or registrated. Cheers, Stefan |

The engine also should have a number on the right upper side of the engine housing. That number should start with the type number of the modell, for example "5A8" for a TR1 built in 1981. Your bike looks exactly like an 81 TR1, but perhaps there was also a 750er with the same look? Bye, Georg |

Hi, sorry I have not been here. I had no email notifications of replies. I have a surprise for some of you who say it is a TR1. On my documents it definately says 749cc and also on the barrels of the bike. So I eventually had to phone Customer Services at Yamaha UK and give them the frame number for them to search ( I didn't know this was possible ::)). And it is an XV750E Japanese model of 1983. Ho ho I was looking through microfiches on ebay and Yamaha also have a XV750E model around 1993 so that will be an area for confusion at the spare parts shop! Popeye: Yes it was ;D |
