Title: My bike doesn't run like it should
Post by Jos on 23.10.07 at 11:48:41

I made one block out of 2 TR1-blocks.  But there's a tick in the front cilinder. And he doesn't run properly. I checked the valves/clearing already , but I can't find anything.
My question is:  Is it possible that I build my block , the wrong way. for instance: is it possible to set my "nokkenas" upper shaft 1 bracket to early or too late , without destroying my valves when starting my bike ??
Furthermore he shooked at 4000 RPM at intervals while driving.  Can it be something else , then a vacuumproblem??
I hope I was understandable for you and somebody can react on my question.
greetings Jos

Yes, its a common error to misplace the camshaft-chain when assembling the engine. The engine then starts up properly and seems to run fine, but at about 4krpm it does not rev up further. The problem is, that the camshaft chain becomes longer during the years, and so the mark on the camshaft chain wheel does not exatly align with the mark on the cylinder head, it wanders off into the direction where the chain tensioner lives. If you fit the chain so that the mark differs into the other direction, the engine does not run properly.
