Title: cam chain tensioner tourque Post by kerosene_cowboy on 01.04.08 at 02:02:34
Hi there, just hope someone may have the tourque setting for the cam chan tensioner cap 1982 xv1000( b type; 19mm bolt with copper washer) as the Haynes manual does not reference this measurement. The allen key tensioner body is listed so I have that. They are costly to replace :-[ ! Thanks Ian ;) |

hi Ian, be carefull. Maybe your Haynes references to the older chain tensioner. It is adjustable manually ! The later model has automatic adjustment. This one just needs very little torque. I dont know the value, my instruction references also to the older one. Cheers, Olaf |

Hi thanks Olaf, I tightened it to 7ftlbs. Charging the battery tonight as it went flat during rebuild. Wanted to fire though! Hoping to ride to work tomorrow or Saturday. Pretty easy to work on,but what a huge weigth of steel man! Cheers Ian |
