Hello, I've been wondering the same issue. Early Virago's had Mikuni's and odd's are much higher to find those from salvage yards than TR1's. Have anyone placed those Mikuni's to TR1? Br Pekka |

A possible alternative if you wish to keep CV type carbs would be the Mikunis on some models of Ducati two valve twins. I've seen 38 & 40 mm pairs on 400 supersports and I believe theyr'e also on 600 & 750's Whatever you fit be sure you can get alternative jets & needles as some Mikunis in particular are model - specific ie no alternative jets available. Slide type carbs are a possibility but can present space problems - usually taller than CV's and youv'e got to find room for the cable runs under the tank. Lotsa luck. Greg |
