Post by CasEye on 16.05.11 at 19:56:44

Hello again, I'm stuck , again! Can anyone tell/show me how to install the carburetors into my TR1 without dropping the front of the engine down to get them under the main frame?
Looking forward to seeing some reply s, cheers guys.

Hi Casey ;D
under assistance of a translator  ;), I try to help you even in simple words to give.
1.
To reinstall the carburetor, you need a foot-10mm wrench for the mounting of the intake port.
2. The intake should be put forward to the carburetor, but not tighten the hose clamp.
3.The hoses from the carburetor cover (above) to vent, must be plugged, this look like an "L"
4.Read carburetor with the intake from the left side (looking ahead) placed between the cylinder, thereby screwing the screws for the intake, one in the cylinder, which is only a few threads screwed. Thus you will find it easier to allow the other screw holes.
all this is a tricky action, but after some practice, it works.
5. If the carburetor is in his position, the 10mm bolts, tighten with the wrench, while I tell you the same, that is only in very small steps, because it has no place.
6. if you ask even more accurate, you know where you have to write.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Odin, thanks again, I think I will be able to do it now, your advice has been most appreciated and easy to understand, even with the translator difficulties.

Hi Casey,
I thank you for the kind words for translation.
It is not always easy for us Germans, in German to think and write english.
Helps me many years of experience from my profession as engineer and aircraft mechanic, where I traveled professionally across the whole world as a sailor  ;D ;D, and was greater at every airport in the world to repair the aircraft.

I wish you every success in the installation of the carburetor

Just thought I'd better drop a line of thanks to all here. Many thanks for the help and advice so far. I got the carbs in the bike last night. A friend of mine a guy with more clues than me came over and within the space of about ten minutes had them in, no scratches and all plumbed up as well.
Awesome sight seeing her nearly complete, so back into evenings in the shed until shes running I reckon.
Just looking for a home for a Rear frame breather tube, I know it's a "rear frame one" because thats what i wrote on the bit of masking tape we used as notes that was wrapped around it.
Trouble is i can't find where it attaches.
Looks like it's bent to go over the rear cylinder, but can't fins any 10mm tubes that it might fit around the rear frame.

Your " Rear frame breather tube " ??? realy, i didn´t kow what fpr hell you mean  :o :o :o, or were it can be ??

On the rear frame, is no tube, the the only tube's on the bike are:
1. To the air filter, 1 piece
2. from the frame to the carburetor 2x pieces
3. from the carburetor to the cylinder 2 pieces
4. from the carburetor to the top, again 2 pieces (approx. 10mm) in two small tubes that are fixed to the frame (carburetor vent)
5. one or two hoses to the engine exhaust in the gum to the carburetor
6. the tubes, no one needs, for mixture regulation
7. the two rubber pieces that sit in the frame and a piece of the frame stand out, to the carburetor Tubes

I find it more out of your head not occur.
Can you take a picture? from the part
