Title: re back firing on idle Post by tophased on 28.06.13 at 03:10:10
Hi i have a TR1 with first generation Hitachi Carbs I have recently cleaned up the carbs replaced the diaphragms ( one had a rip ) and generally cleaned the carburettors up and replaced the air-filter with an external K@N filter its now backfiring on idle with the pilot screws 3 turns out and im pretty sure its just on one carburettor ( whats the limit on how many turns out on the pilot screw 3, 4 ?) the bike ran ok before the rebuild ( even with the holes in the diaphrams !!!) and I do understand i have changed the air filter to more free flowing any advice on what to do next would be great thanks J ps i do have 2 new 36mm mikuni vms that were for another project would it just be better to start again with Mikunis ?
