Title: TR1 750? Post by kdemery on 21.08.13 at 19:31:19
Hello I have a bike which claims to be a TR1 but has a 750cc motor in it. The engine number and chassis match. The engine is all black. I thought this might be an XV750 but the bike has a chain drive, the XV750 has a shaft drive. Has anyone seen a chain drive 750 TR1 before? Could this be a genuine European model or perhaps made in Japan only? If anyone knows I would appreciate knowing something more about the bike. Photo's attached. As you can see it is a 'basket case'. I've never heard of a XV750 chain drive, but there are xv920 with chain drive was built times for Australia (a Meber of the Forum in South Africa has one), it may be possible that the japanese have built a XV750 with chain drive, even for this market and export to U.S.

All I checked out Gredner's link but that is to a shaft drive model. My bike has a chain drive. It is exactly like the XV920 except for the engine size. My bike has the starter solonoid next to the battery which is exactly like the XV920. I checked Grem's link and the bike shown there is exactly the same. 750cc with a chain drive. The description in the advert describes it as a Japenese model TR1. My speedo is calibrated in kilomotres and there are Jaaenese characters on the speedo face. So it looks like I have a Japanese model TR1. But the photo's in the adverts shows a badge on the side panel which starts XV.... I can't read anything else. I will do so more research. Regards Kevin |

There was one - just like that (750, chain-drive) - for sale in Austria. But truth be told, I didn't follow up on it, as I was looking for a TR1 at the time. Cheers, Greg |

Hallo Kevin, look at the picture, it´s from a chain modell. If you only read the text, you are right, they wrote about shaft drive. |
