Title: Vacuum damper for Benzinhahn/ petcock / fuel taps Post by cliffa on 04.03.15 at 20:14:36
Hi all, For those of you still running standard vacuum taps, petcocks, Benzinhahn or whatever you want to call them (as I am)... Just after I bought my TR1, I was about to head out for a ride and I noticed pretty extreme pulses in the fuel passing through the fuel pipes. I was sure that this was due to the un-damped vacuum from the intake manifolds to the fuel taps pulling the tap diaphragms in then releasing them. I was also sure this was not healthy for those rubber diaphragms. So I set about sourcing some dampers. Basically none were easily adaptable, so I put my thinking hat on and came up with the solution you can see here.. http://s924.photobucket.com/user/apple-cor/media/Vacuum%20damper/P1010442_zpsrdoodebt.jpg.html?sort=4&o=0 I have been running these for a year with no adverse effects and though it about time to share the simple fix. I made another set for your enjoyment ;) Hope you find it useful. Cheers all, cliffa |
