Hello Everyone :D. I have been a fan of this site for about 10 years and just love looking at the Masterpieces built by fellow TR1 enthusiasts. Well I now have 4 of these bikes and plans for all of them. My biggest hurdle, as I see it, is getting the breathing right. I am very interested in single carburettor conversion. Is there anywhere to get a good manifold from or does anyone have any tips on making my own. I am very handy with a MIG and grinder am and can, and have, fabricate just about anything. Any hints on good exhaust setups would be awesome. Thanks Patrick in Oz. |

Breathing well and single-carb manifold doesn't go together well. If you want proper performance get either a set of Dellorto 40ies or Mikuni VM38s and follow the jetting guidelines on here and you should be pretty much set. For my turbo-build I've built the pretty much least detrimental manifold I could which consisted of 2.5 pcs of 40mm diameter 90 degree bends with flanges on each end. And still, on a n/a-bike this would probably kill off heaps of power... Cheers, Greg |
