Title: Rear downpipe removel?? Post by helikopete on 03.07.16 at 13:51:14
Hello fellow tr1 friends Can you help me telling me how to remove the rear downpipe because it seems to be stock between the 2 plates holding the rear shock. How do I remove the pipe? Thank you for any help you can provide. ;)) |

Try to shove back the Plate as far as you can( yamaha calls it a clamp) then turn it to an angle so it goes trough the narrow space. It´s a bit tricky but it works easy, Ali |

Hi Ali Thanks for your reply. I have tried twisting an turning but it wont come off, but if you say its easy I´ll try again. It seems like the wheel is in the way so I was thinking of deflate the tire to make room. |

Hello I am not sure deflating the tyre will give you enough room. Remove the rear wheel and you will have easy access. Regards Kevin |

Hi Kevin Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure I´m up for remove the rear wheel and chain box my self so I think it has to go to a real mechanic. Thanks for the help |

Don´t remove that chainbox, it is an ugly -in Fact the most dirty - work and not necessary at all. Just take off the rear Wheel , which is done within 5 minutes, and the pipe will come off in case there is nothing totally wrong with your Bike, believe me, Regards Ali |
