Title: Rear downpipe removel??
Post by helikopete on 03.07.16 at 13:51:14

Hello fellow tr1 friends
Can you help me telling me how to remove the rear downpipe because it seems to be stock between the 2 plates holding the rear shock.
How do I remove the pipe?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

;))

Try to shove back the Plate as far as you can( yamaha calls it a clamp) then turn it to an angle so it goes trough the narrow space. It´s a bit tricky but it works easy,

Hi Ali
Thanks for your reply. I have tried twisting an turning but it wont come off, but if you say its easy I´ll try again.
It seems like the wheel is in the way so I was thinking of deflate the tire to make room.

Hello

I am not sure deflating the tyre will give you enough room. Remove the rear wheel and you will have easy access.

Kevin

Hi Kevin
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure I´m up for remove the rear wheel and chain box my self so I think it has to go to a real mechanic.

Thanks for the help

Don´t remove that chainbox, it is an ugly -in Fact the most dirty - work and not necessary at all. Just take off the rear Wheel , which is done within 5 minutes, and the pipe will come off in case there is nothing totally wrong with your Bike, believe me,

Thanks Ali
Is there anybody in this forum who has any photo of a wheel change or similar work, I would be happy to see how.

Thank you all
