Title: TR1 high compression pistons from orginals.
Post by Sami_Timonen on 12.08.20 at 15:46:30

Hi

I have 700cc heads in my TR1.

I was wondering if i would grind orginal heads to have similar shape in sparkplug and other side. This makes compression ratio lower, without high compression pistons. And big valve plates are already there.

Would it be possible to use 1100cc setup with 1000cc block (5,8mm longer stroke) and have stock piston material removed enough, to make it a high compression piston?

So what you mean, is turn the heads into hemisperical chambers? I don't think the XV1000 pistons have enough meat to bump up the compression after reshaping.

I welded some XV1000 heads up to have the same chamber volume as 750 heads. This actually worked quite nice until a broken valve stem seal spoilt the fun.

Cheers,
