Title: Diode in the wiring loom Post by RichardThe_Geo on 15.04.21 at 03:35:40
Hi all, Just in the wiring loom near the headlight there is diode. This is encased in black plastic approx 3x2x1cm, with the three wires coming out into a connector to plug into the wiring loom. Mine has a hole burned through it, as if the diode has heated and burned. (see the photo). Can someone explain what the actual function of the diode is in the wiring loom, as everything seems to work OK without it. I know what a diode actually does, but what is its purpose in the TR1 loom? Will it cause problems if it is not working. Should I replace it? If I should replace it, does anyone know the specifications? Cheers Richard ![]() |

The diode is for the oil level control funktion. when you switch the ignition on the oil level control lamp is on till you start the engine. You can connect the black-red label wire directly with the green wire from the oil level switch. The effect is that the oil level control lamp only works when the oil level is low. |
