Title: TR1 for sale in the UK
Post by kdemery on 18.04.24 at 15:24:34

The time has finally come. It is with regret that I have to sell my TR1. I am based East of Salisbury in the UK.

The selling price is £4,600 (UK Pounds) Details below, any questions please contact me.

Mileage: 30,658 miles.

History: Purchased in 2011. Prior to my ownership this bike spent seven years in a museum. Very low mileage for the year. It has every mod that should be fitted to this model. This bike has been ridden to many TR1 rallys in Europe. It is a very reliable bike. Featured on the front Cover of The Magazine Of The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club, Issue 4.  In one year the bike will be eligible to ride in the London ULEZ free and will also be tax and MOT free. If you want a TR1 you will not find a better one.
V5 is in my name. A new MOT will be put on the bike.

Bike: Paint original. Burgundy colour. Paint shows minor marks and wear consistent with age.
Engine. Capacity increased to 1063CC. Increased capacity achieved by a longer stroke. Delivers more torque and a very smooth ride. Stroke increase achieved by fitting Barrels, pistons and crankshaft from an Yamaha XV1100. Very desirable mod. DVLA advised of modification changes and V5 updated to show true capacity.
Brakes. Stainless steel hoses fitted to front brakes. Front brake Master cylinder replaced with larger bore  cylinder. Rear brake from an XS650
Wheels. Cast alloy wheels replaced with wire wheels. Hubs from XS650 with Morad aluminium Rims. Tyres Avon Road riders. Size front:  110/80 Rear 150/70 Original wheels and tyres included with sale.
Starter Motor: Four pole motor from XV1100. Works very well.
Oil feed. Higher capacity oil pump with larger filter fitted. Oil feed junction drilled out to 2.4mm to increase oil flow to head. White metal cam bearing replaced with roller bearings on both heads.
Exhaust:  Original front pipe and both cans. All rechromed. Rear pipe replaced with later, plated, exhaust. This will last a lifetime.
Battery. High capacity battery fitted.
Indicators. Large indicators replaced with smaller discreet indicators. Original indicators included with sale.
Mudguards: Front chrome mudguard replaced with painted heavy ally type. Rear mudguard normally fixed to swing arm changed to larger light ally guard fastened to the underside of the seat frame.
Forks. Dampening holes reduced in diameter. Fork brace fitted.
The original tool set is included with the bike.

The sale includes: many spares, original wheels with BT45 tyres, Hepco & Becker pannier frame with two 35L panniers and Top box. Extensive paperwork. Haynes manuals.

Thank you for looking.

if it just has to go because of space reasons : you are welcome bring it to me and store it free of charge 😎😜
do you come to the Rally to me to Hohenlohe in august ?
i, and a lot of other friends , would be very happy !

kind regards

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

I am well and not giving up motorcycling. I am just finding the bike a little heavy. I also have two bikes and ride the other as much as I can. The TR1 is not getting enough exercise.

If I cannot sell the bike I will come to the Rally. If I do sell the bike I may come to the Rally on my other bike. Whatever happens I hope to be there.

All the best and ride safely.

Kevin

Wolfgang, obviously you have not attended the rally in pitton. Kevins other ride could be a prime father of the TR1.

Kevin, always remember the sign in Sammy Millers Motorcycle Museum: You don't stop driving if you get old, you get old if you stop driving!

Hope to see you. Greetings, Christian

The bike has been sold. I have sold it Joe who lives in Hove in the South of England. It has gone to a good home.
I have owned a total of five different TR1's. I feel a little lost without one in my garage.
Christian: Mary has her share!
Regards
Kevin
