Title: web site parts, xv same as tr1?
Post by jon(Guest) on 09.09.04 at 06:29:00

hi i found a site selling bits like gasket sets etc, they list xv920 81-84 chain drive and then list
YAMAHA XV1000 XV1100 COMPLETE GASKET SET  Fits XV1000 (L/N) 84-85 & XV1100 (U/W/A/B/D/E/F/G/H) 88-96 Virago
my tr1 xv1000 chain drive will have the same piston cyl size as 1000 not 920
any ideas what to use? or am i just confusing myself?

The TR1., XV1000 (can be the custom or the TR1, you can tell by the year), xv1100 has the same bore (cylinder size). The XV1100 has a longer stroke (different crankshaft). The TR1 was only built 81-83 so the gasket-kit you listed should be to shaft drive engines. To be shure you should ask if the kit fits a TR1.
