Title: Oil Warning with Correct Oil Level
Post by bri(Guest) on 04.11.05 at 10:25:00

Hi I've completed an oil change with new filter. I have run the engine and ridden for a small amount, then let the bike stand, and then topped up the oil. The oil is now at the maximum level.
When I accelerate hard with mid/high revs, the oil warning light comes on for upto about 3 seconds.
I was wondering if this is normal or something to be concerned about?
Bri

This is "normal"... The oil warning light just warns if the oil level is too low, the oil pressure is not measured. If you accelerate or drive uphill, the oil flows backwards within the oilsump and the light lits up...
Bye,
Georg

it did happen accelerating hard up a hill most times.
I am very content tonight after having a ride out today. I have bikes in my blood and have been without a ride for a long time.
She handles dismally thought, and I have discovered she only idles on her rear cylinder. All that is for the future! For now I am happy to ride!!! :)

A good carb-clean will probaly fix the idle on the rear cylinder.
Check the small passage in the float bowl, it can be clogged.
