Not many replies to your post zurferjoe.  What did you learn, and what did you do?  I am considering doing something similar, and am keen to learn more about what can be done.

I did a relatively extensive post on how to build quick engines, Sepp also has a thing or two to say. It's hidden in the General Section here on the forum under "Nanno baut sich einen Motor" (or something along those lines) - again, the english-language originals are on my Blog (greasygreg.blogspot.com) and there's even a search tag "engine building" on there. Carbs and exhaust might to some degree be dictated as are rules, so that would mean reading the rules first and then see what's applicable. E.g. the series that Sepp races in only allows for a maximum of a single pair of opposing brake pistons and no USD-forks, but aside from that gives a lot of leeway... I do know of other racing classes, which on the contrary ban flatslide carbs, so reading the rulebook might be a worthwhile endeavour..

Cheers,
Greg
