the updated idler gear set (Read 1400 times)

auspaul Ex Member	the updated idler gear set 02.02.15 at 08:51:15 hi there, has anyone fitted the updated idler gear set to a 81 TR1 xv1000 chain drive, from all the research i have done i am sure it does. would like comfirmation please , mine has the sprag clutch, solenoid operated fork slider thingy and the spring on the idler gear. thanks guys this site is the best.

Or do you mean the uprated XV1100 starter clutch and idler gear? If so, I am pretty sure Sepp did. I have the bits in stock and plan to fit them in the next couple o' weeks, whilst doing a few other mods to my engine. Cheers, Greg

auspaul Ex Member	Re: the updated idler gear set Reply #2 - 02.02.15 at 13:49:46 thanks greg, the part # for the upgraded idler gear set is 3LP-W1551-00-00 it replaces the original gear set minus the spring and has a not so steep groove plus chamfered tooth edges for easy mesh, its made for the 84 xv1000 which seems to have the same starter setup as my 81 tr1 xv1000 before i purchase one would like to know if someone has or is fitting one cheers paul

If you're patient a bit, I am pretty sure Sepp and some other will chime in and give you first hand info on what to look for etc. Cheers, Greg
