In 1982 I tried the biggest "Conti" tyre i could get to fit. Sorry to say i don't remember the size but I do remember when I almost killed myself getting a full-blown wobble at 140 km/h... I other words; you will get a bike that won't be safe to ride fast if you fit a big rear tyre.
