if there is a soft link, You should be able to find it, looking from the left side. It looks very much different. Not the link itself, but the clip that holds the whole thing together. What I suppose is, that someone used a chain without a soft link. There are two kinds of these chains: Endless ones and such with bolts, that get riveted. For the TR1, many people prefer to rivet the chains, because they are afraid that the clip of a soft link may cause problems inside the rubber part of the chain case. You can identify the riveted bolts by looking very close. Faster bikes are not allowed to have soft links at all. In such cases You have to use an angle grinder to cut the chain.
