TR1 Assembly

Hello all, new guy here from Australia. Joined to ask you guys advice. I've got a guy here in Aus who's looking to sell a TR1. Only problem is that it's in boxes, completely disassembled. I thought I'd ask your opinion about it. How hard is it to assemble this bike from the ground up? I have no experience with any of it, but the engine was rebuilt recently, and it's all in good condition according to the seller. What do you think?

Hi!

Rebuilding a TR1 from scratch isn't that - normally the bigger question is: are you sure everything's there? And how was it disassembled? If everything is neatly packed in little, labelled zipbags, it's usually a rather painless experience. If you have to go through eight boxes of rubbish... well, it's doable.

The bike itself has got a few quirky and weird unique features but assembly and disassembly is pretty straight forward. If you have a Haynes or Clymer manual available with it, I am pretty sure you'll ask about one or two things, but other than that it's basically Lego.

Cheers,
Greg

If you liked to play with Lego or Fischertechnik as a boy you can also put a motorbike together... Wink

Ich lieg grad unterm Tisch  Cheesy, aber wenn er ja schreibt, der Modor wär "rebuilt recently " dann sollte es mit dem Rest ja nicht so schwer sein, wenn man weiß wo was hin kommt Smiley

@gurbachen: Is the Engine completely it is, like a walk to the town  Grin

much fun with the puzzle !

if you don't know which parts belong to where, and you have no clue how to fit them - use the microfiche stored in the Technics. Those exploded views can help to identify, and give an impression what type of bolts are needed.

Kind regards

Thanks for the replies guys, unfortunately the guy wanted a bit too much for it, or more likely I wanted it for too little, so it probably won't happen. Still good info though if I come across another opportunity.
