Hello Barry
As far as I am aware they never made a 981cc Virago in any year. So I would not expect the pistons rings to be compatible.
If I am wrong someone else on the forum will let you know.
The XV1000 and the TR1 were, in the UK, the same bike. So those would be compatible.
Hope that helps?
Regards
Kevin

Hello Barry and Kevin,
i remember i bought XV1100 Virago Piston Rings for the 981ccm TR engine, as they have the same bore - 95mm. For the 1100 there are also 95,5 and 96mm Obersize available, i think. Rings for the BT are different i presume, but i may be wrong,

AFAIK all 95mm piston rings (Virago 1100, TR1, XV1000) don't have the same spare part number, the remark
5A8-11610-00 does indicate though, that they originated on the model 5A8, which is a TR1.

(Interestingly enough, no oversize pistons or ring-sets are available via Boats.net. )
On the contrary the Virago 1100 runs rings coded as 1TA-11610-00.

Should you buy a set of rings, it would be really, really interesting to checkout the differences.
Cheers,
Greg

The rings from the 1100 are smaller, then ore than, the 1000 onces.

The 981 are all the same.
