Not sure about it. The biggest I've fitted so far was a 130. A 140 may *JUST* squeeze in (assuming that you still use the chain enclosure) without rubbing on the chain boots.

Cheers,
Greg

Please don't try a 140 tyre in the standard wheel. One swedish guy did, lost the tyre when going fast and nearly killed himself.
The wheel is not wide enough. There is a german company (named Deget ? ) that modifies such wheels. But this is quite expensive and You could not use the chain case any longer.
Better look for some other wheels. Many people here spend their time doing this.

Regards,

Stefan

Gruss,
Schorsch

Regarding the "a 140 tyre came off the rim" part, you have to be aware, that your rear rim is only 2.15" wide and that the recommended minimum width for a 140 and beyond is a 2.5" rim, so even if it is fittable, you will actually run it down a lot faster, because of its balloon-like shape AND it may induce some rather bizarre handling qualities… (mostly I'd say a trade off in straight-line-stability vs. slightly increased cornering feel).

Hope this helps
Cheers,
Greg

P.S.: If the 140 came off the rim, it was most likely low on pressure or damaged during installation. At least that's my guess.

Where are you getting this information from, nanno?

I found three sources that conflict:

source 1:  http://www.dansmc.com/rimwidth.htm
source 2:  http://www.foreven.com/motorcycles/Tyres/JoshOnTires.htm
source 3:  http://kickstarter.org/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=10574.0;attach=19598  (this is the attachment)

The first two sources say not even a 130 can fit, whereas the third source says the 120/90 should be on a 2.75" rim to begin with as STD.

It's cast onto the wheel ..... Perhaps it needs a wash????
