My new TR1 race bike
03.08.12 at 19:36:11

Hello, I have just joined the forum and would like to say how much I have enjoyed reading some of your discussions.  Cool

My passion is race bikes. I have built and raced a few now but they were all 2 strokes. I spent all this year commuting to work on a 500 twin and have now got used to the feel of a 4 stroke. So the plan for next year is to start racing a 4 stroke twin.  Roll Eyes

Meet my new bike.  Wink

The plan is to turn this mess into something that looks like one of Sepp's beautiful creations.

I’m going to need some help from you guys as I go. I will keep uploading pictures of my progress and soon you will probably get sick of all my silly questions.

amongst the mess I have a frame, 2 engines, some forks, wheels, a seat unit, a swingarm, a lot of wiring and two boxes of assorted cycle parts.

I have also found a single carb conversion in there. I will post a picture of this soon but I guess my first question is.... will this be better than 2 carbs or has this been done so that it looks like a Harley?

Sepp, I would also like your advice on what to do about cutting the frame.

Many thanks  Smiley

Hy, the pile of metal that looks like me (I have are still many parts) such as 3D puzzle.
The assembling, the parts, is relatively simple, but clean check and takes time.
The question whether singel or twin carburettor carburettor, is a question of principle.
If you take that wish to race, a cafe-racer, I would support the double-carb, because a beseere supply. Personally I like a singel carb because it is so nice and slow, and sounds like harley.
On your picture, I can already tell the Singel carburetor bridge ... I like to dream of it too, because I like the sound of singel carb.
For any other questions you need, you are here to help all of you so that you can make your building a nice bike, with a few nice tricks and tips, we Coustomiser.
