Hi, I'm open to suggestions on what to do next! TR1 - 1981, all standard.
The problem: Over 4-4500 rpm the motor just seems to run out of power and it takes a looooong time to get to 5-6000.
The carbs have been on and off so many times I can do it blindfold... The carbs have been in the in the ultrasound cleaner and new float needles fitted. Float levels checked/adjusted. New plugs and HT leads and a new air filter. Still the same

I have the luxury of a friend with several running TR1's

So far we have change the complete carburettor assembly, the coils with leads and caps, the TCI unit, the fuel tank in case it was bad taps, from a good running bike... the carbs were not adjusted for this engine though.
A road test was done after each part was swapped (added). We also tried a run without the air filter. That just made it worse.
I had removed the carb vacuum unit, but reinstated it. No difference.
What have I/we missed?????
Cheers,
John
