Single carb / vergaser conversion
29.06.14 at 10:56:26

Hi all,
I'm working on a single carb conversion using a home made manifold made from copper ( which the Virago guys refer to as the P901 manifold) and a Harley 40mm keihin carb. It's not fully dialled in yet, but the initial results are very encouraging. I've put some pics. on Photobucket if anyone wants to have a look.

Here's a taster..

Grüsse,

Cliffa

Glad you like it Odin. Bending the rear oil feed tube really helps to get the carb further in as well, so keeps the manifold shorter.

Tried also with the P901System and Keihin carburetors, was only moderate success. Have letzes years many experiments trying to improve the inadequate processing of P901, changed the nozzles of the Keihin carburetor several times, but did not receive an improvement.
From my experience, I must say, the whole systen of the mainfold is not so good, the system of KJS is mature and in this form I also see the solution, be two equal lengths of pipe with a diameter of 38mm (1.5 inch) better can.
