Hallo alfiegobb,
I had the same Problem many years ago, I dissolved the bolt with a locking pliers and welded a nut on it. It works reliable until today.

Hi Alfie,

in order to get it out, weld a nut onto the end of the old screw.

For the new screw, I got myself a suitably long stainless M8-bolt and turned the end down to accept an M6-thread. Use plenty of copperpaste on the thread in the cases and plenty of grease on the pivot and you should be set.

Cheers,
Greg

Hello Alfie

I had the same problem. I took the side cover off and cut the bolt in two places with a hacksaw. When I removed the mech I had enough purchase on the remaining bolt to remove it.

I went to my local Yamaha dealers to get a replacement bolt thinking I had had no chance. Believe it or not but they had one on the shelf.

Regards
Kevin
