Good morning TR1 riders.

After failing to find a TR1 within my budget I have bought a BT1100 Bulldog. I am wondering if this successor would be welcome at the rally this August in the UK? I would like to come and meet you all and see your bikes. I drove many brilliant kilometres in Canada on my XV920RH.

What do you think?

Hello Texx

You will be very welcome. We have had Bulldogs and MT01's attend the rally, in the past, so you will be in good company.

I look forward to seeing you at the Rally. Where will you be traveling from?

Regards
Kevin

Hello Kevin,

now I am also making plans to visit the rally in august. It will be my first visit to a TR1 rally at all.

The travel distance from my home town (close to the dutch and belgian border) is about 600 km and should be possible as a day trip.
I prefer the channel tunnel at a rate about 90 EUR for a return ticket. Hopefully the customs are not getting to serious after the Brexit....
Keep fingers crossed.....

Kind regards

Ralf

Hello Ralph

I look forward to seeing you at the Rally. There will probably be a few more riders coming over from Holland/Belgium.

I have done the journey from the Dutch/Belgium border in a day. It's not too strenuous. Lots of motorway on the UK side. It will get you here quicker.

If you turn up early you can often take an early train on the Tunnel at little or no cost.

Travel safely.

Regards
Kevin

Hello Tom

I look forward to seeing you all at the rally.

I would recommend you avoid the M25 during the morning rush hour 7-9. Perhaps stop and have a long breakfast.

Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

what do you mean by early and what does little or no cost mean?

Having gone to the UK by motorbike several times before I always used the ferries from Calais, basically because this seemed to be the cheapest way to get there.

So I´m quite surprised to hear that is obviously no longer the case. Could you give us some more details and your expirience on that?

I booked the Qudos in Salisbury for to nights for Natascha an me. Is there public transpartation or are there taxis in Salisbury?

We both are looking forward to see you in August.

Cheers
Tim  Smiley
