Did you disturb any of the wiring when you did your investigation and starter fix? Specifically ground/earth wiring..
Is your engine painted? You might not get spark unless you ground the plug to one of the bolts..
Do you know how long it sat unused before you bought it? And for what reason was it sold?
Check the leads from coils to plugs, assuming those parts are still standard, pull the plug wire and check the ends for corrosion, the copper inside can go black over time, if so, cut them back slightly or replace the plug wires.
Get a multimeter and check your battery if it has stood for a year your battery might have suffered.
*nothing to do with spark but*
Lastly if it has been standing with the same petrol in the tank for this long the petrol might/will have gone bad. This will not affect spark but might mean even with spark it will not start. At least drain fuel from tank and carbs and replace with fresh fuel if you still can't get started. You might have to take off the carbs and clean them properly also check your fuel taps still operate the way they are meant to as they can also present an issue with long term non use..
Cheers,
