I recently got myself a TR1 in a very sad state and I am now in the process of rebuilding. It is a 1981 (5A8) There is a lot to do so no doubt I will be asking a lot of questions over the coming months. The first problems i seem to be coming up with is getting parts, If anyone can point me in the right direction for parts it will be much appreciated. I also have a 1998 xv1100 (virago) Best Regards Wally Hallo an alle. First post für mich. Seit kurzem bin ich mir eine TR1 in einem sehr traurigen Zustand und ich bin jetzt in den Prozess des Wiederaufbaus. Es ist ein 1981 (5A8) Es gibt eine Menge zu tun, damit kein Zweifel, ich werde gefragt werden viele Fragen in den kommenden Monaten. Die ersten Probleme, die ich zu sein scheinen kommen mit wird immer Teile, Wenn jemand mich in die richtige Richtung für Teile es viel zu erkennen ist Punkt. Quite often bikes are broken for spares, so it shouldn't be too hard to find bits unless you're looking for a starter (only new), starter-clutch (hardly ever one coming up) or a rear-down-pipe (yup, they're all f*cked). Everything else is pretty easy to get. The brakes are the same as on other models, carb-stuff can be bought via www.motorradbay.de (Keyster), batteries and other consumables can be bought, e.g. via wemoto (if you want to buy in the UK). At the moment I use the Google translater. So we will see what happens. The bike is almost back together with a few more little bits to do. I think I may a problem registering it in the UK as I believe it was exported from Austria and I do not have a log book or registration No. But I will worry about that later. Take Care Wally Danke für die Tipps. I.am gerade ein paar Sachen auf dem deutschen E Bay. Aber ich kann mit der Sprache zu kämpfen. Im Moment verwende ich den Google-Übersetzer. So werden wir sehen, was passiert. Das Rad ist fast wieder zusammen mit ein paar mehr kleine Stückchen zu tun. Ich glaube, ich kann ein Problem der Registrierung in Großbritannien, wie ich es aus Österreich exportiert wurde, und ich habe kein Logbuch oder Registrierung Nein, aber ich werde dazu später Sorgen machen zu glauben. sorgen Vollidiot

Otherwise just get a logbook from a Virago 1000 and do the dirty deeds... it's too simple anyway. Cheers, Greg

I was checking the chassis vin and Engine No and they are the same. Is this normal for a Jap bike? Early british bikes that had the same number were said to be highly collectible
