full choke, no throttle would be recommended. You can try and turn up the idle adjusting srew a little (half rev.), but not too much. But first, set the fuel cocks on position "PRI" for at least twenty seconds. This will flood the carb's chambers. Otherwise there may be a lack of fuel for the first minute or so.
After the 'bang': Did You check the carb holders? Are both carbs still sticking in there?
Check or just change the spark plugs, as they might have got wet. Is there a decent spark to be seen?
