I've another problem... spares.... my TR1 is from 1982 and I need a throttle cable - Yamaha UK say, it has to come from Japan..... might take 6 weeks!!!!! Any tips? Does anyone know if any other cable fits (yamaha can't find it on the computer to check....
Thanks - guy (ps answers in german too, ich verstehe ganz gut....)

Just use a universal throttle cable. You can reuse the outer cover and just replace the inner wire. Regarding your other problem: Did you check the valve timings? Perhaps a camshaft timing chain has been mounted wrongly. You can find more here in the Forum (search for "Steuerzeiten").
