TR1 exhaust system
04.08.08 at 14:41:27

I live in Australia. My rear header ( manifold ) is rotten and I need to find a replacement. I am happy to fit an after market system, any ideas where I can source a complete system or just the mainfold?

thanks

Gidday from NZ.  According to a two wheels owner survey I have Staintune did a very good replacement system.Rot in the front end of the rear pipe is the known weak point of the exhaust - I have in the past welded up 2 or 3 of these for clients
Depends where in Oz you are - I know there are guys doing stainless in Sydney Melbourne & Adelaide but I'm sure there are more.  Greg

Hi guys.  My own XV1000 is fitted with a BSM 'Classic' full exhaust system.  It was fitted just before I bought the bike about a week ago, so I don't even know how one would go about acquiring one here in the UK, let alone on the other side of the world.  What I can tell you is that it's German, it sounds fantastic, it looks very like the original Yamaha system and retains the original power characteristics (I've owned two TR1s in the past).  Hope a Pom's ravings are helpful to you...

The BSM classic is a very good substitute and also comes with a new rear pipe. (You keep the front pipe)
The sound is more pleasant but still not to loud.  Smiley
