Air mixture valve (Read 6615 times)

KINGPRAWN Ex Member	Air mixture valve 03.11.13 at 10:06:35 Is is possible to remove the air mixture valve? Building a cafe racer and have a different fuel tank. If I use a yamaha rd 350 lc fuel tap that has two outlets, could I blank off the vacuum connectors on the inlet manifolds and carry on as normal???????

I have a problem with the fuel/carb system on my bike. I think I may have a problem with the Air mixture valve. I was considering getting a replacement valve. But if the valve is not needed then I can simply remove it to diagnose the problem. But the question I have is: if the vavlve can removed what does the valve do? If it can be removed then it didn't do much for the engine! If I remove the valve and could be introducing another problem I would like to know what it my be. Thank you Kevin

Your engine no harm can get. The valve was task to ensure, that when the throttle while it does not come to misfire. Drive for years without the valve, and have no problems.

Kevin Salisbury, UK. I've noticed on the onside of one of my inlet rubbers a crack, which was a split right next to the clamp making it invisible... Reckon that's my problem!?!?!?
