From now on, I will periodically (~ once per month) scan all forum posts for external linked pictures. If found, I download them locally to TR1.de and change the links of the posts. I do this because image hoster very often delete the images after a while. And posts with pictures where the pictures are not shown are often useless.
Don't worry, I don't do it manually. I wrote a PHP script for that

Eine Bitte: Wenn ihr auf Bilder auf externen Webseiten verlinkt, verwendet bitte immer zusätzlich zum Link entweder ein echtes Attachment (dann das Bild vorher auf euren Rechner laden) oder das "img"-Tag (siehe unten das Beispiel). Wenn die externe Seite mehrere Bilder hat, einfach das schönste Bild aussuchen. Bilder mit "img"-Tag kopiere ich regelmäßig auf TR1.de. Viele Bilder im Internet sind nach nur wenigen Wochen einfach weg. Dann ist der Beitrag hier nur halb so interessant...

A request: If you link to pictures on external websites, please always use in addition to a link either a real attachment (then copy the image on your computer) or the "img"-tag (see example below). If the external page has multiple images, simply select the most beautiful one. I regularly copy pictures with an "img"-tag to TR1.de. Many pictures on the Internet are simply gone after just a few weeks. Then the post here is only half as interesting ...
