Hi,
the trip knob (adjuster) is fastened through turning on the thread: clockwise to loosen, counterclockwise to fasten.
Hope, I could help.

Thank you for the response. However I am unsure does the knob come with a thread attached or is there a separate screw?

what do you wish to do? Remove the knob from the shaft or remove the shaft with Knob attached from the speedo? The knob and shaft are probably a single unit like a watch knob.Disassembly of speedo---frought with many 4 letter words

Hi guys, no the adjuster knob is not attached- it was not attached when I got the bike that is why I didn't know if there was a separate small screw or a plastic thread moulded to the knob, Does anyone have a part number?
Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,
the adjuster knob has no part number - I guess it is not available. The part number of the whole Speedometer Untit is 5A8-83570-F0.
The only way to get one is to look for a malfunction unit and exchange the knob.
