Actually you can buy the very last iteration of the bendix new from Yamaha (but make sure you're well seated), the starter clutch can be acquired as a China copy via ebay/amazon, so yes. Just make sure that in this case you get the IIRC 19tooth XV1100 starter clutch and not the one for the XV1000.

The ratio was changed and in connection with a 4-brush starter the ol' girl finally starts like a normal Japanese bike... until the starter-motor fails again.
