Help!!!
I´m getting kind of puzzled. During piston overhaul on my TR 1 I checked the amount of wear in piston rings and as a matter of precaution also checked the outer diameter of the pistons as well as the cylinder bore.
The workshop manual tells me that piston and bore should measure 95 mm in diameter and that there are 4 oversizes available.
The measures (piston and bore) in my engine are 94,25 mm!! I know that a piston could be worn out - but I´ve never heard of cylinders that are getting narrower by the wear.
Does someone have any information on this matter?

The manual says:
piston: 95 mm
measurement point: 14.6 mm (whatever this means - maybe this is
the source of the difference between your measurement and the
manual values - i guess it's the place where you actually measure)
1st oversize: 95.25 mm
2nd -"-: 95.5 mm
3rd -"-: 95.75 mm
4th -"-: 96.0 mm

Thanks....
I´ll check that - though it seems to me that this means that cylinder and piston are concentrical?! (my measures were taken near the cylinder head)

PS/ I´ll let you know when I find the answers /DS

Checked.......and you were right!!
There is a difference in diameter measures of the piston. The lower half - up to just below the oil scraper - is 95 mm and the upper half where the piston rings are seated, is 0,75 mm less in diameter in order to provide the cylinder rings with enough "working space".
