Hello!
Check cams and followers for signs of wear and pitting. Bad oil supply and overheating can ruin these.
The whole starter mechanism should be inspected. The engine may bee burnt or the coupling faulty(a mechanism with steel rollers that releases the starter engine when the motor starts).
