Hi everybody!
does anybody have experinece in putting catalytic converters in a TR1?
I am opting for two small metal-based inserts to be entered into the exhaust pipe
can opener anybody?
does anybody have connections as to where to obtain any.. ?
Anybody interested send me a mail and I'll try to get a good price from a local cat-dealer...
-rember a catalytic converter is always better than none,
even if it is not recognized from the official side..
Ciao,
KLaus

XT500 - FT500 - TR1 - RM250 - Xl250R - TR1
they all come back, don't they?

I have to ask, WHY BOTHER ?!?!?!
I thought that bike emissions were low enough anyway without the need
for a catalyst?

what do you mean?!
the emissions are low in absolute figures if you say "
Oh it's just me that polutes the air and I don't ride very much.
(as everybody else says)
Of course an "un-state of the art" motor like our TR's (that swhat we love it for, isn't it?)
has very bad emissions cause she burns rich and lean mixtures depending on throttle setting.
a remidy would be a fuel injection.. which is not far away from a lamda-tester, regulation,
anti blocking brake and and and, so why not buy a BMW in the first palce or stick with your car?
because its a TR1,
and inserting the filterlike catalytic converter won't do any harm,
it'll just do good.
that's what i say at least!!
(my oldtimer-car has one -too since 65000km's and it results in cleaner (90%) exhaust..
cheers,
Klaus
