question: where exactly is the gap, between cyl head  and cylinder
or beetwen cyl and cyl base(foot)
if there is a gap on one side, that means it is sitting canted?
in any cas, looking bad,,
what the... are you doing to the poor machine?
min has 85tkm also and no head gaskets replaced..
and going strong..

Hi,
erklären kann ich mir so eine Lücke auch nicht, aber vermutlich ist
beim Anziehen mit dem Drehmo. etwas schiefgelaufen. Ich ziehe meine
Kopfschrauben üblicherweise nach etwa 1000-2000 km nach dem letzten
Zusammenbau nach. Bei der Montage ziehe ich die Kopfschrauben schon
mit 65 Nm an, also etwas mehr als vorgeschrieben. Das Nachziehen
erfolgt entweder im Teildemontierten Zustand ganz wie im Buche oder
wenn ich faul bin (kommt oft vor) löse ich lediglich die Verbindungen
über dem Kopf zum Rahmen und ziehe nicht mit Moment sondern nach
Drehwinkel nach (etwa 1/6 bis 1/4 Umdrehung). Aber Achtung alle  vier
Hauptschrauben um den gleichen Winkel!
Bei meiner ersten TR halten die Kopfdichtungen mittlerweile schon
120.000 km nach der letzten Reparatur.

Now my english efforts,
i tighten my cyl. head screws when the engine has about 1000 and 2000
km after the last assembly. I use a higher torque (65 Nm) when I mount
the head. If I won't dismantle the engine I'm not using the torque
value but a rotation angle (approx. 60 - 90 degrees). This method work
well for 120.000 km at my first TR.
