I saw the heading and thought someone was converting a bunch of their spares into a single cylinder TR1 on purpose!  Grin

Having swapped TCI's and getting the same result, it HAD to be the carb.
Off they came again.

Well, this is embarrassing! A user error happened  Smiley
On the front cylinder, I stuck the main jet in the pilot Smiley

All running good again Smiley

No worries - pretty much everyone of us (who has wrenched on the carbs in the past) has done that on the Hitachis.   Grin
