Hallo, Ich bin seit heute bei Euch, obwohl ich keine TR 1 besitze. Was nicht ist, kann ja noch werden, gell? Ich fahre zur Zeit eine super Tenere, sowie ein BMW R 1100 R Gespann, damit unser Kleiner auch mitkann. Zudem gibt es noch eine Freewind der hübschesten sowie einige Baustellen. freu mich auf Euch. Hallo Gemeinde Bin neu hier auf dem Forum. Ich heisse Roland, bin 47 Jhare alt und komme aus Liechtenstein. In meinem Stall stehen eine Serienducati und zwei Egli´s. Nun hab ich mir ein TR1 angelacht (zumindest Teile davon). Rahmen, Räder und Motor. Ich möchte einen schönen Cafe racer aufbauen und werde sehr froh sein, hier den einen oder anderen Tipp abholen zu können. bis demnächst... Grüsse Roland

Ein freundliches Hallo eines Neuen aus dem Saarland. Bin ein 52-jähriger Motorradfreak der nach seiner Zeit der Supermoto-Rennen auf das Schrauben und Umbauen ausrichtet. Habe schon einiges im Stall stehen - teilweise als Umbau-Basis zum anderen weils einfach gefällt - Spektrum geht von BMW-2-Ventiler über Ducati 1000 Sport, Vmax, AJS bis zu alten Maico´s. Derzeitige Projekte XS650 Tracker, BMW Classic Racer und nun ist mir die Tage auch noch ne TR1 zugelaufen . Hoffe in diesem Forum ein Quell an Infos zu haben und freuen mich auf einen netten Austausch mit netten Leuten Grüsse aus dem schönsten Bundesland der Welt. Frank alias Hollywood

Manfred, Thank you for this site. I saw a very nice TR1 920 for the first time yesterday here in California, so researching the bike here, perhaps to find one to buy. Currently I have a 1998 Honda ST1100 Pan European for traveling. Previously I rode a Norton 1959 Nomad 600 twin and a Kawasaki 1975 Z1 900. The Yamaha seems like a classic small enough for around the city but big enough to be comfortable. Though older than yourself, born 1946, I also mourn the passing of DEC. My first desktop was a DECmate, in the days of 8 inch floppies, then a dual CPU Rainbow with hard drive and DOS. Not a computer person, but I use them for work like everyone, and wish Digital Equipment Corp had managed to compete with MS and IBM.

Hallo, da ich seit Jahren mitlese, wird es doch nun mal Zeit mich anzumelden. Da ich schon viel von dieser Seite profitert habe, hoffe ich doch vielleicht auch ab und an mal weiterhelfen zu können. Linker Niederrhein, 5G5 seit über 30 Jahren ( mutiert immer mehr zur TR1 - bis auf den Kardan natürlich)und noch ne SR schon etwas länger Manfred, meine absolute Hochachtung für diese super Seite. So wie ich es sehe, ist dies die beste XV/TR1 Seite. Gruß an alle hier Günther

Hallo zusammen, bin seit kurzer Zeit stolzer Besitzer eines Fiedler Schweden mit einem TR1 Motor. Die Seite hat mir schon bei zwei drei kleineren Sachen die entscheidenden Tipps im Bezug auf den TR1 Motor gegeben. Klasse Sache hier.

I am here in America and have had 6 XV920R´s. Raced one years ago when the AMA had BOTT races. I saw the story about Hansl´s TR1 and want to build another. I tried to use the email link to contact him for questions and couldn´t. Manfred, can you have him contact me ? adye1@windstream.net

Hallo, ich lebe in Berlin und fahre meine TR1 seit 30 Jahren. Es ist das 81er Modell, Ez.1983. Nach Behebung der anfänglichen Probleme, erwies sie sich als guter und zuverlässiger Tourer (Dolomiten, Griechenland, Sardinien). Das Abwerfen der Vergaser-Ansaugstutzen gab sich irgendwann von selbst. Wegen der Dichtungsprobleme wurden die Zylinder gegen die des Nachfolgemodells getauscht. Auch wegen Dichtungsproblemen wurde das Fett aus dem Kettenkasten entfernt. Die Schmierung mit Kettenspray reicht aus, es ist keine Überhitzung festzustellen. Den Starter setzte ein freundliches Mitglied der TR1-Interessengemeinschaft dauerhaft instant. Peter

I am from Wellington NewZealand, was previously a forum member but could not hook up this time so have rejoined. I own XV 1000RH, XV 750 chain drive, same as XV 1000 but early type starter, XV750 shafty, also lots of parts. My first XV1000 I have made lots of changes, XV1100 shafty engine, XV750rear diff, XJ900 wheels front and rear, XJ900 rear disk brake, front brakes 4 pot calipers from late XJ 1000, new stainless exhaust system, currently completing wiring. I travelled over 130,000 kms on this bike while officiating at Motorcycling NewZealand Road Race events in my capacity of Senior Steward and National Road Race Referee, Best Regards Jim Doherty.

My TR1 has now gone to the operation theater after 260 000 km of unbelievable trustworthy running. So as substitute i have bought a Triumph tiger 800 xrx. Its funny to com from a simple bike to a fully electronic controlled bike with ride by wire. trc. abs. cruise control. heatet grips and foog ligts. The only thing i can do now is oiling the drive chain, If i can get the weekend off i might go too the rally on it. Have a nice summer.

Hi, I had been a member of the site a few years back but lost the information. I have two 1981 xv920rh´s one which is painted in the 82rj colours and the other is the stock red colour. The one in the 82 colours is running and has 52,000klms on it. Looking forward to some fun on B.C. roads again. Cheers Ken S.

Hi all, I have got a 1983 5a8 model as of now it`s done 6700miles only. I have had it for 2 years & have been recomissioning it back to as new ,front mudguard rechromed, carbs ultrasonically cleaned,seviced the forks, renewed the brakes and fitted braided brake hoses,I have entered 2 bike shows & it will be shortly featured in a English magazine called "Classic motorcycle & mechanics" The tester was a famous bike journalist called John Nutting, The photographer was Joe Dick, the pictures he took made my bike look amazing, When I get them I will try to upload some for you, I love your website & should hopefully become a frequent contributor Regards Steve

I own a 1981 XV920rh. Bought it new at Kunkle Motors in Dallas Pa. I put Progressive Front springs mono shock, Lockhart oil cooler, fork brace, and stainless steel line. Bike has 11k on it and is in perfect shape. They are very rare and I enjoy those special rides. The starter has been shimmed but it´s still clanks, hitachi carb experts are hard to find and bike backfires on roll off. Been that ways since day one. I use Amsoil, and do my ritual of draining carbs at end of season, WD 40 all vulnerable parts including exhaust. Red in color engine# 218. I enjoy your web page, Pat

sold on this site when viewing recent rally.Bought my XV1000 in Brisbane Australia oct 81 and it has served me well all these years with very little work required.I have not seen any reason to replace it.I bought another recently in need of a lot of TLC to restore so will be seeking knowledge of TR1 owners to complete tasks i have not experienced on my other bike
