Hi Manfred, I live in South Africa and acquired a neglected XV 1000 TR1 late last year as a donor bike for a Cafe conversion and will hopefully get support and answers to technical questions from your forum. I am currently riding the following bikes; XS 650D ´77 - fully restored and owned by me since ´77; HD XL1200R ´05; Triumph Tiger 1050 ´07 - my workhorse & daily commuter, Triumph Thunderbird Storm ´11 - my favourite funtime bike at the moment.

Hi Manfred

As a new TR1 owner this page is a must!! great job, and I hope to learn a lot more about my TR1. Have already looked at the technics and solved the first minor problem, just great.

Hi Manfred, I found this site already a couple of years ago (at least) and thought then already that it is great that people have the enthusiasm to do stuff like this. Finally a couple of months ago I managed to buy a TR1 for myself - and quite enjoy riding it!

Hi Manfred, I have just found your site - it looks very informative .As a TR1 fan from many years - riding them for commuting and touring ,its good to know there is a place where owners can get support and pass on useful information. I live in the UK and there are still places that provide parts and service for them. I have two at present - one which I bought recently for less than £300 is standard and needs some minor restoration. The other is , I think unique - it has been mildly customized to look like a full-dress Harley ,fitted with twin tanks and snap-on filler caps , Instruments in the centre above the frame in an aluminium housing .a lowrider saddle and sissy bar ,one-off touring mudguards and straight through exhausts. Its only done 6800 miles from new and was evidently the winner of the Kent Custom bike award in the 1980s .It has the emblem "HarDley -Davidson " in gold leaf lettering on the tank .Dave Minton wrote about it in Motor Cycle Sport and Jim Fogg did a feature in Back-Street Heroes magazine .I am currently re-commissioning it to use next summer .If any of your members remember it I would be grateful for any information about it .Thanks again for the work that goes into maintaining a site such as this .John

just found your website. I have a xv920rh that I bought new and ride almost every week. bike is pretty much stock except for the bars and bar-end mirrors. my other bike is a triumph thruxton but I prefer the920 for long hauls. In retrospect I have owned the 920 for about half my life.

Bought my TR1 in 1997. Brought it with me to Canada. May just be the only one in North America. I also have a MZ Baghira (Yamaha engine) and a 1974 TY 175 I still ride in trials.
